Family Fun Day at Nelson and Colne College
June 22, 2019 @ 10:00 - 14:00
Families invited to join in with the fun with Lancashire Adult Learning and Nelson and Colne College
An afternoon of activities and entertainment are in store at Lancashire Adult Learning’s annual Family Fun Day later this month.
The fun day will take place at Nelson and Colne College on Saturday 22 June from 11am until 3pm and families who attend can look forward to a wide range of fantastic, free, and fun Lancashire Adult Learning activities, including Lego Robotics, Ozobots, Picture Animation, and arts and crafts tasks.
On top of that, visitors will be able to browse a variety of market stalls, have their faces painted, challenge themselves on a sports inflatable, and meet a number of visiting animals from Wellybobs Mobile Farm. There will also be a Flashbang Science Show, the children’s entertainer Dozy Dave, a bouncy castle, a food court and picnic area, and much more.
Lancashire Adult Learning’s new Autumn course guide will also be available to pick up on the day, and visitors will be able to enrol onto one of the many new courses on offer across the Red Rose County when the new academic year begins in September.
Principal Amanda Melton said: “The Family Fun Day is a great occasion for families from across Lancashire to get together and enjoy a day out with free activities. We have a brilliant line up of activities planned to take part in, some great entertainment to enjoy on the day and a broad selection of stalls to browse.
“Our free family learning activities will also be running on the day, including arts and crafts and ICT. In arts and crafts, children can create everything from a frog to a ladybird, or use their imagination to design something original, while the Picture Animation can transport you for photographs at iconic locations around the world – and even the moon!
“Our new course guide for Autumn is packed with a wide range of courses to help adults across the county learn a new skill, enhance their social life, or develop their career prospects. Our dedicated team of expert staff will be on hand on the day too, to help with any enquiries and to enrol learners onto any courses that catch their eye. We are looking forward to welcoming families through the doors on the day.”
As well as its targeted delivery and partnership work, Lancashire Adult Learning offers a huge range of planned provision across the Red Rose County, from Arts and Crafts to Humanities classes, Languages to Health and Wellbeing sessions and Functional Skills English and Maths and Employability courses.
In February 2018, Lancashire Adult Learning was named as the inaugural winner of the national Adult and Community Learning Provider of the Year at the TES FE Awards.
