Regardless of the weather, every Sunday and Thursday evening, Curry on the Street have been giving out homemade curries ,food parcels and clothes. They have been featured on the Graham Liver show for months and their efforts have clearly been recognised after being chosen as winners for the “Voluntary Group of the Year 2021” category of BBC Radio Lancashire’s prestigious “Make a Difference Awards”. The award ceremony itself was held at the Blackpool Winter Gardens on Sat 11th September 2021.
Anyone locally in the know will know, or at least heard of. James Foy and his team. They have about 11 volunteers and are supported by a range local businesses. These include Morrisons, Asda, Farm Foods, Farmhouse Biscuits, BFC in the Community, Jaipur, Pendle Kitchen and Pendle Dogs in Need.
“Jaipur have helped with about 70 portions of chicken biryani meals per week. They are great guys. And that is right from the start … almost 2 years … so thousands of meals!”
