Park Primary Staff – Fundraising for an outdoor gym area
Congratulations to staff from Park Primary School (and a parent) for completing the Manchester Half Marathon today (Sun 13th October)!
Their aim was to help raise funds so that the school can purchase a brand new outdoor gym for use by it’s children. Despite the rain and other challenges, everyone completed the circuit. Here are their results :-
Name | Time |
---|---|
Mr Farry | 1.33.56 |
Mrs De Curtis | 1.52.12 |
Mr Burton | 2.00.12 |
Mr Benson | 2.15.00 |
Miss Warbrick | 2.16.00 |
Miss Barker | 2.45.00 |
They were aiming to raise £500 and their fundraising currently stands at 45% of that target. Quite clearly, the Park Primary Staff are passionate about their work and this is such a great cause, please donate to their fundraiser and help to get this outdoor gym area operational.
New Outdoor Gym
“Childhood obesity is on the up and we are in danger of the children in our school right now living a life 5 years shorter than our own! Encouraging a healthier lifestyle through promoting physical activity can prove fundamental in instilling positive habits for the future.
The benefits of physical activity include increased cognitive function, boost in memory, reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, obesity and diabetes. It can also increases muscle mass and bone density which is imperative at such an important stage in the children’s lives.
Donations will be contributing towards the expense of the gym equipment in the ambition of educating children to implement a healthier lifestyle through physical activity.”
