Colne Market – Santa’s Grotto raises £1,000 for Home Start East Lancashire

The Santa’s Grotto that was put by Colne Market raised a total of £1,000 for Home Start East Lancashire

During Christmas in Colne, the Grotto raised £475.12. Following the event, Barnfield Construction contributed a further £524.88 in order to make the total up to a round £1,000.

Home Start East Lancashire trustee Margaret Foxley and two members of staff attended the cheque presentation at Colne Market.  Market Manager Steven Reed, along with various market traders, presented their cheque to the charity and Charlotte Pickup, Marketing Manager for Barnfield Construction, presented the top-up cheque.

In 2018-19, Home Start East Lancashire helped over 800 children and 360 families.  They are plugged into the community at various levels and offer much support to local families. In February, they will be running training sessions for new volunteers … so if you’re interested in helping the community, get in touch with them (contact details below).
