Colne Tyre Centre helps out local scuba diving club

Colne Tyre Centre generously donate 5 tyres to Burnley Sub Aqua Club for their boat trailer.

After hearing that Burnley Sub Aqua Club needed a new set of tyres for their boat trailer, Colne Tyre Centre stepped in and offered to supply and fit them free of charge.

Owner Azhar Iqbal was initially approached by the club for a quote for the work.  But Colne Tyre Centre is no stranger to helping out the community and Azhar said,

“Colne Tyre Centre can do better than that … we’ll supply & fit the tyres free of charge”

Such a huge boost to the club was very gratefully received.

Pendle Witch

‘Pendle Witch’ is a 7.5m RHIB and is extensively used by the club for diving and training.  It’s seen action all over the country … Farne Islands, Anglesey, Knott End, Menai Straits, Sound of Mull are to name but a few.

Diving Officer, James Dennett, said:-

“A trip out on the RHIB is always much fun and everyone is encouraged to become familiar with it.”

Burnley Sub Aqua Club in the Community
Burnley Sub Aqua Club is a local not-for-profit organisation that is heavily involved in scuba diving. The club offers training and diving to members around Burnley and Pendle, as well as assisting Universities (such as Manchester University Sub Aqua Club & Liverpool Sub Aqua Club) with training of their new recruits.

As well as ‘taster’ try dive sessions, diver training , fun diving (UK & abroad), Burnley Sub Aqua can also offer a multitude of related courses. There are many ‘Skills Development Courses’ from Boat Handling,  to Chartwork & Position fixing and rescue skills. If you wish to learn to dive, then head over to the Burnley BSAC website for further details.

Scuba divers are very passionate when it comes to beaches, oceans and marine life in general.  They’re taught right from the outset to respect the environment – you’ll often hear of them cleaning beaches, dive sites or perhaps helping with marine conservation projects.

Back in 2018, Burnley Sub Aqua took ‘the witch’ over to the Menai Straits and teamed up with other clubs to raise funds for the RNLI.
