Meet the new stewardess & steward of the Fairwayman Bar & Grill – Ciara & Matt.  They are pictured (above) with Howard Lonsdale (House & Bar Chairman for Colne Golf Club).  This new business is located within the clubhouse at Colne Golf Club and is open to the public daily between 9.30am – 3.45pm (but closed on Mon & Wed). They currently offer breakfast, lunch and take bookings for private events and other special occasions (catering can be individually tailored to suit your personal requirements).

Their official launch is expected to be in the first week of November.  In the run up to this, they are busy expanding their current menu & making sure that they create a friendly, quality feel.

 
Ciara & Matt have been living in Gibraltar for the last 22 years. Matt is a chef and wanted to build a business for himself so they quickly moved to Colne when an opportunity presented itself! Most of the family arrived in Colne on the w/c Oct 7th 2019 and immediately took up residence right next to the Clubhouse at Colne Golf Club.  We visited them on the following Thursday whilst they were preparing the clubhouse & a buffet for a ladies presentation evening.  That event was a major success and they’ve already received some superb reviews on the Fairwayman Facebook page.

Whilst Matt will be working exclusively at FairwayMan Bar & Grill, Ciara will be managing aspects for Colne Golf Club (e.g. the bar) whilst helping out Matt.  Expect some major changes over time, as they put their personal touches to this venue.  You don’t have to chat to them very long to feel their passion for the future and the level of quality that they want to deliver.

Clubhouse at Colne Golf Course
The Colne Golf Club clubhouse is a fairly large building and has a bar area, kitchen and has seating space to accommodate around 80-100 people.  It’s also got a balcony with seating & tables, along with outstanding views of the golf fairway and the surrounding area.  There are a couple of extra rooms – a large extra room housing a full sized snooker table and a lounge that has superb views of the surrounding countryside.

Did you know that the clubhouse at the Colne Golf Course isn’t limited to club members? It’s open to the general public and they are very, very welcoming.

 
At the moment, the opening hours of the bar at the clubhouse are different to that of the Fairwayman Bar & Grill, so make sure you check the times.
