Dream Job: MND Specialist Nurse
Around May 2017, Julie took ‘her dream job’ as an MND Specialist Nurse as part of the MND Care Team at the Lancashire Teaching Hospital in Preston. She helped the MND Care Team to setup a new charity to help both the MNDA and also to help the hospital with their own activities. Julie wasted no time in involving us and we’ve been right with their team wherever and whenever we can … at 2BR Radio, at That’s TV Lancashire (Preston) and at the Royal Preston Hospital. If anyone read our first Admin Blog, Julie was the reason we had to nip out on Colne Gala Day in 2018 to ensure we captured the official launch of the new charity at Marks & Spencers in Burnley. This was a bit of an ask on Gala Day, but we just about managed it. Marks & Spencers (Burnley) have been supporting this charity as their ‘charity of the year’ since launch and Burnley M&S has hosted many fundraising events for them.
More recently, we’ve seen Victoria McFadyen ‘fall silent’ from 7 am – 4pm at the Butchers counter at Booths Barrowford in support of Motor Neurone Disease.
