Today, Victoria McFadyen falls silent from 7 am – 4pm at the Butchers counter at Booths Barrowford in support of Motor Neurone Disease.
Victoria has joined in with the MND national campaign of ‘Silence Speaks’ which is raising awareness of the struggles people face when diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease – one of the first things they lose is the ability to speak. On Fri 26th October 2018, she will be doing her full shift at the Butchers counter in Booths in Barrowford without speaking.
Funds raised will be donated to our local charity – Lancashire and South Cumbria Motor Neurone Disease Care & Research Centre. The MND Care & Research Centre has provided valuable care for Victoria’s grandparent after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and provided much needed support for the family.
If you would like to donate, pop over to Victoria’s Justgiving page.
Our local MND Care team is always super active and has recently completed a high profile fundraising walk from the Royal Preston Hospital to Marks & Spencers (M&S). M&S have nominated the Lancashire & South Cumbria MND Care & Research Centre as their charity of the year and they are assisting with fundraising throughout the year. The walk was promoted by 2BR radio, and supported by supported by former Claret midfielder, Len Johnrose and Lloyd Colne BMW and Graham Engineering.
