Colne Ladies Lifeboat Guild

Colne Ladies Lifeboat Guild collecting for the RNLI.

Members of the Colne Ladies Lifeboat Guild were collecting for the RNLI in Morrison’s (Nelson).  This caught my eye, as I’m a keen scuba diver with Burnley Sub Aqua Club and we always try to look after the RNLI.

What was that? Lifeboat Guild? In Colne? So you’re thinking “I didn’t know that Colne had a Lifeboat Guild?”. Well, we just about knew of their existence from the odd bit of paper lurking around Colne – but it’s taken quite some time to actually track them down!

Some of the ladies pictured are also members of the Friends of Alkincoats Park and to help keep the park in top shape!  They’re also connected with both Colne Parish Church and St. Michael & All Angels Church (Foulridge).

Both organisations are short of volunteers, so if you’re interested in getting involved, then drop them an email at: aliceswann@btinternet.com or barbarachinn18@gmail.com.

If you want to meet them, then they’ll be in Booth’s (Barrowford) on Fri 29th & Sat 30th Nov 2019.
