Colne Veterans at the Newborn Baby Unit

Colne Veterans at the Newborn Baby Unit at Burnley General Hospital

Representatives from the Colne Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club presented a large number of cuddly toys to staff from East Lancashire Health Trust & Me Charity.  They were being donated to the Newborn Baby Unit at Burnley General Hospital.

The Veterans were keen to spread some cheer at Christmas time, so they discussed their options at The Crown Hotel  during one of their breakfast meetings, just before Remembrance Day.  They decided to donate toys to the Newborn Baby Unit at Burnley.

They didn’t do any fundraising – all the toys were personally bought and donated by Colne Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club members themselves.  Whilst at the hospital, several children spotted Santa and couldn’t resist chatting to him. They were, of course, rewarded with a cuddly toy.
